Anemia in Renal Failure (AKB-6548-CI-0017)

When kidneys are diseased or damaged, they do not make enough EPO, a hormone produced by the kidney which aids in the production and formation of red blood cells in bone marrow. The bone marrow then makes fewer red blood cells, causing anemia.

AKB-6548-CI-0017 is a multicenter, randomized, open-label, active-controlled Phase 3 study for the maintenance treatment of anemia in subjects with Dialysis-Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease (DD-CKD)
